Torre Prepares for the Red Sox
From the It's-Never-Too-Early-to-Hype-the-Yankees-Red Sox-Series department:
Now that Hurricane Frances is done messing with the Yankees' schedule, rotations have emerged that should have the Yankees with three of their top four starters and the Red Sox without Curt Schilling and Tim Wakefield when Boston rolls into town next Friday.
Orlando Hernandez is on schedule to start the opener of the three-game series, with Jon Lieber starting the second game and Mike Mussina the third in what could be another classic matchup with Pedro Martinez.
If the Red Sox hold to their current rotation, Wakefield and Schilling will pitch Wednesday and Thursday against Tampa Bay, leaving Bronson Arroyo, Derek Lowe and Martinez to face the Yankees.
The Yankees have a day off Thursday, so the only decision Joe Torre has to make is who will fill Kevin Brown's turn Monday in Kansas City.
It'll likely be Brad Halsey, a 23-year-old left-hander who is 1-2
