Schilling Goes for 19th Win and Cy Young

Schilling seeks to put Red Sox back on track as the Ace faces Seattle and Boston tries to catch Yanks in AL East.

SEATTLE - In his quest to lead the Boston Red Sox to their first AL East title since 1995, Curt Schilling might just pick up his first Cy Young Award.

Schilling will shoot for his major league-leading 19th win when the Red Sox continue their four-game series with Ichiro Suzuki and the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field.

With the Red Sox closing in on the first-place New York Yankees in the East and considered serious contenders to win what would be their first World Series championship since 1918, Schilling has been the staff's clear-cut ace and been every bit as good as advertised.

Red Sox ace Curt Schilling is 0-0 with a 4.91 ERA in four starts against the Mariners.
