    Pacemaker Failure

A strange this happened on Thursday the Red Sox started the day off 2 games behind the AL East leading Yankees and ending the day 3.5 games out. Thats what happens when the Yanks win a double header, and the cant beat the third worst team in baseball.

The evening felt like a Sox game in July, unable to get the offense going and the defense putting the team out of any chance for a come back. It all started with a Wakefied throw to first base in a pick off attempt. Who other than Millar was playing first and let the errant throw get by him, Ichiro scored. The icing on the cake was when Manny hustled after a routine fly ball and let it bounce off his glove, that error lead to 4 unearned runs.
"I just missed it, but at least I went hard out there," Ramirez said. "You know something, mamma said there would be days like this."
Ramirez who went 0-4 also had these words of wisdom about the opposing pitcher.
He pitched a great game," Ramirez said. "That guy was nasty. You have to give him credit."

Wakefield did not do his part either allowing seven runs in less than 5 innings, fortunately for him only two were earned.
"I wasn't getting the outs I needed to get," he said. "I can't explain it. I don't know why."

Sox lost 7-1 but Shilling gets the chance to salvage the four game series tonight.
