Red Sox Block Clemens Trade to New York

Roger Clemens was recently placed on waivers by the Houston Astros, a move done only to facilitate a possible trade of Clemens after the trade deadline has passed. It was a long shot for the Astros who may have hoped to trade The Rocket back to the Yankees, but some team was bound to step in and the Sox just happened to be the first. The Sox would have actually been interested in acquiring Clemens again, but shortly after Sox brass put a claim in on his wavier the Astros removed Clemens from waivers and the deal was over.
