Pedro Takes It To The House

Pedro pitches a complete game shut out.
Sox blank the Devil Rays 6-0 and take the series 3-1. Martinez pitched his first complete game shut out in four years. You have heard it dozens of time before and probably again: It was the Pedro of old. It was a pleasure to watch, as the Boston faithful gave him a standing ovation as he took the field in the top of the ninth. He gave up only six hits and struck out ten. Pedro's record is now 13-4 with a 3.72 ERA. Not too bad.
He's not the power guy he used to be, but he pitches," said Devil Rays manager Lou Piniella. "He was in full control out there."

Pedro actually talked to the press since things are going well for him.
I feel a lot more confident that this team is going to play better because the team is starting to settle down and play defense together, and also our offense is improving," said Martinez. "Everybody knows their role and knows what they have to do. "

Ortiz snapped out of his mini slump as he knocked in two with three hits. Kapler (who lead off) and Youkilis (two-hole) both knocked in a run each. Millar, and Tek stay hot as they both added another RBI to their head board.

Wakefield takes the mound tomorrow night at the Fens against Jose "Boo Yaa" Contreras. That should be interesting.
