    Goodbye Daisuke Matsuzaka

Nearly 6 years ago I wrote this post and created this video welcoming Dice-K Daisuke Matsuzaka to the Red Sox.
Everyone knew at the time it was a bit of an expensive wager; now we know just how expensive a wager it was.
Wednesday October 3 2012 was Matsuzaka's last start as a Red Sox and it was your typical Dice-K start.
IP H R ER BB K HR WHIP Season ERA
    D. Matsuzaka (L, 1-7) 2.1 6 5 5 1 2 2 1.71 8.28

Matsuzaka's final line with the Red Sox: 50 wins, 37 losses, 116 games started, 321 walks, and surprizingly an ERA of 4.52

    Thanks for Nothing

    YANKEES GET BAILED OUT
I went out there and blew it."--Andrew Bailey
Since September 8th Andrew Bailey has an 11.43 ERA, and by blowing the game last night he put a perfect cap on a ridiculously bad season for himself and his team.
The good people at ESPN BOSTON point out the hard to face stats involved with the Bailey trade.
    The tally at the moment:
    • Josh Reddick: 32 home runs, 84 RBIs
    • Andrew Bailey: 6 saves, 7.04 ERA
