A Salty Dog
Ortiz: I was mad. I was totally mad!...You gotta believe with your players. Period You choose to have me on your roster, since day one. You gotta ride with me.
Buckley: So you are saying Terry Francona on the day didn't believe in you?
Ortiz: You say it.
Buckley: Well no he must of said it because he sent up a hitter for you.
Ortiz: Why you bring the case up? I turned the page already.
Buckley: Alright.
Ortiz: It is not going to be like that any more I guarantee you that.

The Ortiz Hustle
The Ortiz Hustle
I don't think my (hitting) was worse than last year at this time. Not even close. So I don't know. I just had lousy luck at the beginning of the season. Things weren't coming through, but I was missing pitches with good swings. Bad luck. Nothing I can do about that." -- David Ortiz

Yankees Suck! At Drinking Too
Male Mets fans were 43% more likely than Yankees fans to drink beer. They also drink more in general: the percentage of male Yankees fans who said they don't drink was almost double that of their Mets counterparts (30% to 16%).

THE BIG PAPI LASER SHOW
Yet Another Reason to Love Dustin Pedroia
David’s fine. He’s one of our teammates. It could have been me who hit into a double play. It happens to everybody. He’s had 60 at-bats. A couple of years ago I had 60 at-bats and I was hitting .170 and everybody was ready to kill me too. What happened? Laser show." --Dustin Pedroia 05/04/10
After David Ortiz went 0-4 and lowered his average to the team low of .149 Dustin Pedroia came to his defense.
“I’m tired of looking at the NESN poll, why David’s struggling. I’m going to go on line and vote on NESN.com. ‘Papi’s fine. Thanks for playing.’’’
