Nomar May Not Be Smiling Soon
Nomar sits after a day off. That is not good.
Manager Terry Francona held SS Nomar Garciaparra out of Friday night's lineup with soreness in his right heel. Garciaparra missed Boston's first 57 games because of right Achilles' tendinitis.
``He's just a little sore,'' Francona said. ``We're just going to try to manage this and get him back on the field as soon as we can.'' Garciaparra said it was too early to tell if he would feel well enough to play on Saturday.
``I'm hoping I'm back tomorrow in some way,''Garciaparra said
In Some way? How many days off does a sore achilles' need unless you tore your sheath.
