    Another Reason to Love Papelbon

No one has ever accused Jonathan Papelbon of being a well traveled scholar but Paps most recent quote about Philly is simply priceless.
Philadelphia has a cool feel to it, man, It's a vibe that the city produces. It makes you feel like you are in Paris. I've never been to Paris, but I've seen it in a lot of movies." -- Jonathan Papelbon

    Mission Accomplished

    PAPELGONE
Jonathan Papelbon has made it clear for years that he wanted to reach free agency and set the bar for closer contracts, and that is exactly what he did. His loyalty has always been to getting the largest contract possible and not to the Red Sox. On Monday he received a 4 year $50,000,000.58 contract with the Phillies. On an annual bases a $500,000 pay raise from his 12 million dollar salary last year with the Red Sox. He made it clear from the get go that he wanted to get the largest contract for a reliever ever and for that honesty Paps we thank you.

    Papelbon Parties On

9 days after he gave up two doubles to end the Red Sox 2011 season, Jonathan Papelbon revels on the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans. It is important for closers to have a short memory and Paps is proving why he is one of the best closers in the game.

    Papelbon's Workout Video!

    Papelbon's workout video:
I got a copy of it. I get it in my weight room at home and pop it in, use it as motivation. Every time I'm in the gym struggling, feeling like [expletive], I look up at the TV, and it gives me a kick."

    The House That Loot Built

Apparently someone forgot to install the ghosts at the new Yankee Stadium. Trailing by two runs with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th and a very shaky Jonathan Papelbon on the mound the Yankees were not able to evoke the ghosts that were responsible for countless comeback wins at the old Yankee stadium.

    Papelbon Versus Ramirez

    PAPELBON KEEPS RIDING MANNY
MANNY RIDES A TRIKE AS HE KEEPS UP THE HAMMY ACT

It doesn't matter who you are -- you could be Babe Ruth -- if you're not in that same cubbyhole with the rest of the guys going to war with you, you're all going to die. That almost happened."--Jonathan Papelbon

Pappelbon didn't back away from his comments of calling Manny Ramirez a cancer in an Esquire article. He went on to say that Manny's replacement Jason Bay was like a chemo treatment. Meanwhile in Arizona Ramirez did not play in a spring training game on Thursday because of a bad hamstring. That bad hamstring did not keep Ramirez from riding a tricycle and taking batting practice at Dodgers camp.

    FLYING IN STYLE

With 6 Red Sox selected to the All Star game, owner John Henry let them use his private jet to fly to the game in San Francisco. It was a apparently a fun one way ticket as the players did not fly home on Henry's jet.
