- Manny was hit in the head by a heat seaking curve ball in the first inning. According to Tito he felt "woozy" and was pulled from the game as a precaution.
- Now only Cy Young, Rodger Clemens, Mel Parnell, and Luis Tiant have more wins in a Red Sox uniform than Tim Wakefield (118).
- Kevin Millar hit his first homer of the season, and was skunked by his team mates when he came into the dug out, al la Youkilis's first homer last year.
- No one is hotter than Johnny Damon who is hitting .373 for the season. Damon had his third straight multi hit game and is hitting well over .400 over the past seven days.
