Schilling Brings it Across the Boarder

Curt Schilling aims for his 16th victory of the season, as he heads to the mound for the visiting Boston Red Sox in the finale of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Schilling has won back-to-back starts and is currently tied with Texas' Kenny Rogers for second place in the American League with 15 wins.

The 37-year-old righthander was excellent in last Friday's win over the White Sox, yielding just three hits in seven shutout innings. He also struck out six batters without walking anyone. Schilling has struggled against the Blue Jays, going 1-6 with a 5.70 earned run average in 12 career games (eight starts).

The Red Sox are 62-1 this year when leading after eight innings. ... Manny Ramirez's two RBIs in the fifth inning gave him his seventh straight season with at least 30 homers and 100 RBIs. ... Mirabelli homered for the eighth time this season in the sixth. ... Wakefield has won five of his last six starts and has beaten the Blue Jays four times this year.

    SEASON SERIES: Red Sox, 13-5.
