    Race to the Finish


    "[Boston] is playing extremely well," said Alex Rodriguez, who went 4-for-4 with his 32nd homer and two RBIs. "But we are in the driver's seat."
    And because the Red Sox seemingly never lose, the Yankees' inability to sweep four games from the putrid Blue Jays, losing 6-4 yesterday in front of 44,072, sliced the AL East lead to 41/2 games over the charging Bosox, who beat the Tigers, 6-1.

    The 41/2-length lead is the slimmest since June 23 and a solid reason for worry in The Bronx because almost five months are gone and the Yankees' rotation still has questions.
