Wells Hospitalized with a foot sprain

Francona was questioned if Wells told Francona prior to the game if he didn't have his best stuff.

but that is exactly what Wells should have told him. Francona said that Wells was getting a battery of tests at Beth Israel Hospital for a foot sprain he apparently suffered in fourth inning.
