"I think we found something mechanical that was wrong," Martinez said.

Martinez, who got tagged for seven runs on 11 hits, two walks, and a hit batsman over five innings against the Angels Wednesday in his latest bid to turn around his season, said he believes his right shoulder has been flying open in part because of a faulty leg kick.

"It's no big deal," he said, "but let's work on it and see if that's the reason."
