It's nearly a head-in-the-clouds statement, given that Burnett has been either unpredictable, if one is being charitable, or terrible, if one is not. He went 10-15 with a 5.26 ERA, one of the worst performances by a Yankee allowed to start for an entire season. Add to that the fact that Burnett will be pitching on 16 days of rest — having only pitched since then a simulated game in which he hit two teammates — and it's a questionable decision for New York.
