Intentional or unintentional...the ball was obviously in play. If Christopher House of Dorchester had kept his hands to himself, this would not have happened.

It's a shame that the Boston fans would encourage such behavior...just look at those Boston fans...taunting Sheffield and trying to provoke him. Is that how you are suppose to support your team?

In my opinion a few things are clear.
Chris, did not punch, smack, or swipe Sheffield. Nor did he attempt to get the ball. It is also clear that Sheffield over reacted clearly trying to punch a fan, while he had the ball in his hand and while what turned out to be the winning runs were scoring. Not very cool from a man that calls himself a Christian.
What is up for debate is what was Chris actually doing or trying to do? In my opinion he was either trying to knock his hat off, (not cool and he should haven been ejected) or more likely he was trying to distract Sheff and make him mess up the play in hopes of the Red Sox scoring more runs. (Very cool and can come over to my house any time for dinner)
